Jonah Platt

JONAH PLATT

(performer/producer/director) is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Creative Writing and minors in Film Studies and Music. As a junior at Harvard-Westlake School in North Hollywood, CA, Jonah founded the Scene Monkeys, a student improv troupe now in its seventh year. He has appeared in four Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, two with One Night Stand and two with the award-winning HWS-Rembiko Project. Jonah has studied improv at The Groundlings School in Los Angeles, The People’s Improv Theater in New York, and the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in both New York City and Los Angeles. He ran a summer improv program for high schoolers in California and taught musical theater at The Adderley School for the Performing Arts, where he wrote and directed a musical stage adaptation of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. A former intern of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, Jonah was recently employed as an executive assistant to showrunner Greg Daniels for NBC’s Emmy-winning series The Office, and most recently as a writer’s assistant for NBC’s new comedy series Parks and Recreation. His proudest accomplishment to date is his founding of One Night Stand, which he began in January of 2007. This is his first foray into both producing and directing, though you could say it runs in the family.
